Probe Packages
NeuroNexus probes are packaged in printed circuit boards (PCB) for easy connection to commercial data acquisition systems.

Each catalog probe comes with a standard probe package based on the number of electrode channels and probe type.  A-Series Package is the standard package for A-Style Probes.  C-Series Package is the standard package for  C-Style Probes.  Because of  N2T's innovative technology, it is possible to package probes in a variety  of probe package configuration to fit the experiment needs.  N2T also offer custom package design.  Please contact us for more detail.

For connector and headstage interface information, please click on the package photo for more information.

A-Series
A-Series Package is the standard package for A-Style Probes.  The PCB is designed to be easily handled while the probe end is kept minimal to work within a small craniotomy.  This is the most robust package option and should be used unless your experiment requires specific preperation.

C-Series

C-Series Package is the standard package for C-Style Probes.  It has a small form factor that is ideal for chronic setup.  The package includes percutaneous Omnetics connector for easy connection.  Combined with C-Style probes, this configuration allows the possibility of a 'floating' implant.

CM-Series
CM-Series Package is a customization option for using the A-Style Probes in chronic preparations.  Any A-Style Probe can be packaged in this configuration.  This is ideal for small animal preparation such as mice.  It is possible to implant probes in this configuration with a micromanipulator.

F-Series
F-Series Package is originally designed for probes to be used with microdrives (provided by the customers), allowing the probes to be moved during an chronic experiment.  While some users have considered using this configuration in a chronic experiment where the flexible PCB may be exposed to CSF & tissue, this package is not recommended for conditions with constant exposure to body fluids and additional care (ie insulation coating) should be taken as the normal PCB insulation may not be sufficient.

MR-Series
MR-Series, as the name suggests, enables the entire implant to be MRI compatible.  All components in this package are free of nickel plating, which results in minimal MR distortion.  The form factor of this package is exactly the same as the C-Series.  Additional Package may be made into MR competible setup, please contact us about your needs.

Z-Series
In collaboration with TDT, this package is designed specifically to interface with TDT's ZIF-ClipTM headstage.  The package makes the daily plug/unplug of headstages seamsless and exerts almost zero force on the animal during such events.  This package configuration could improve the long term performance of the electrode.
