Optoelectrode update (updated 7/20/2010)

Optogenetic techniques are rapidly changing the nature of neuroscience research. Combining optical stimulation with our microelectrode recording array has been one of the most frequently requested features. We have developed a line of optoelectrode products to support innovative and powerful optogenetic experiments. These include new miniature chronic packages appropriate for small animal and re-usability for cost-effectiveness. Additionally, engineering and manufacturing advances allow us to now significantly reduce the price of the O-Series packages - acute packages now cost $225, compared to $600 previously!

We are now launching a Beta Program for customers interested in our new optoelectrode product line. This program offers reduced costs in exchange for detailed feedback and suggestions on design and performance. We can only accept a limited number of investigators so please respond quickly.

Previous announcements

  • We now offer iridium oxide activation service for our microelectrode arrays.  Iridium activation reduces site impedance and increase charge capacity for increased allowable stimulation limits.  The fee to activate a 16-channel electrode is $100 and $150 for a 32-channel electrode.
  • Our MR-Series package is available for compatibility with MRI.    Preliminary data shows minimal MR distortion.
