Daryl R. Kipke, PhD., President and CEO: Dr. Kipke is an internationally recognized expert in neurotechnology and biomedical engineering. He is a founder of NeuroNexus and has led the company from its initial spinout from the University of Michigan in 2004 to a high-growth commercial company. Dr. Kipke also holds the position of Professor of Biomedical Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan and directs a leading academic research program in neural engineering, neuromodulation, neuroprostheses, and biomaterials. Previously, Dr. Kipke co-founded and served as CSO and Board Member for Neural Intervention Technologies, Inc., which spun out from the University of Michigan in 2001 and was acquired by W.L. Gore, Inc. in 2006 to result in significant returns to its shareholders. Dr. Kipke is a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering and serves on several institutional advisory boards in biomedical engineering and neurotechnology.
Fred G Beyerlein, MBA, Executive Management Committee: Mr. Beyerlein serves on the Executive Management Committee. He worked with Dr. Kipke in the role of Chairman of Neural Intervention Technologies, Inc. and has been active in the development of NeuroNexus since its inception. Mr. Beyerlein has over 30 years of hands on experience in early and mid-stage enterprise development in product and market strategy, financial systems, and overall business strategy in the medical device, molecular diagnostics, and life science marketplace.
Jamille Hetke, MSE, Principal Design Engineer, Executive Management Committee: Ms. Hetke is the lead engineer of neural interface products. She has extensive experience in probe design, MEMS processing and advanced packaging. Ms Hetke was chief designer of silicon probes in research and development at the University of Michigan for 21 years before co-founding NeuroNexus.
Rio Vetter, PhD., VP of Products and Technologies, Executive Management Committee: Dr. Vetter plans and directs all aspects of the organization’s technical infrastructure. Dr. Vetter leads the research and development of new technologies towards innovative, new products directed at research and clinical applications. Dr. Vetter focuses the objectives and interfaces among the different technical project teams to create an efficient technology pipeline that begins with research and development of new technologies and ends with product development and production of sellable goods. Dr. Vetter has leadership experience through directing in-house R&D and production teams, as well as federally funded multi-institutional and international R&D programs.
Kc Kong, MSE, Director of Sales & Marketing, Executive Management Committee: Mr. Kong oversees sales and marketing activities at NeuroNexus. Before the Sales and Marketing group was formalized, he led efforts in sales operation, technical support, product development and manufacturing. Mr. Kong has a MSE degree in biomedical engineering and BS degree in Electrical Engineering, and has extensive technical knowledge on probe design, packaging and electronics designs. Mr. Kong interfaces with NeuroNexus’ diverse customers base and neuroscientists and engineers on a global basis.
Linda Thompson, Director of Finance & Administration, Executive Management Committee: Ms. Thompson leads the financial and administrative operations of NeuroNexus. She has over 25 years of financial leadership experience supporting high growth businesses build the necessary systems and infrastructure to ensure success. She is a licensed CPA and has a BA degree in Accounting.
