Background white noise increases neuronal activity by reducing membrane fluctuations and slow-wave oscillations in auditory cortex

This study titled “Background white noise increases neuronal activity by reducing membrane fluctuations and slow-wave oscillations in auditory cortex”, led by Rasmus Kordt Christensen, investigates how background white noise influences neuronal activity in the auditory cortex and thalamus (medial geniculate body) of awake mice. The team employed NeuroNexus multi-electrode arrays to perform high-density extracellular recordings. The A4x8-5mm-50-200-177-A32 were inserted orthogonally into the auditory cortex, while A1x32-5mm-25-177-A32 were used for thalamic recordings.
