Decoding Sensorimotor Signals in Rats

This study compared novel reduced graphene oxide (rGO) electrodes with NeuroNexus platinum-iridium (Pt-Ir) μECoG electrodes to decode sensorimotor signals from the somatosensory cortex of unrestrained rats. Both electrode types, including NeuroNexus’s 16-channel Pt-Ir arrays (25 μm active site diameter), were used to record motor and sensory activity during lever-press tasks and vibrotactile stimulation. Results demonstrated similar performance, confirming the reliability of NeuroNexus electrodes in chronic neural recordings for brain-computer interface applications.
