Microdrives

Chronic microdrives and drive caps for adjustable-depth recording across sessions.

Manipulators

Motorized precision micromanipulators (MPM) for repeatable probe positioning in acute and chronic setups.

Insertion Tools

NeuralGlider and powered insertion systems that reduce tissue dimpling during probe entry.

Positioning & Insertion — FAQ

Match the drive to shank count and target depth — single-drive for one shank, multi-drive arrays for distributed sites. Chronic caps re-adjust depth across sessions.

Not always. A manipulator positions the probe during acute insertion; a microdrive re-adjusts depth in chronic preps. Many chronic labs use both.

It inserts at a controlled velocity that reduces tissue dimpling and probe drift, improving yield on fragile high-density probes.
