NeuralGlider System

Motorized neural implant insertion with ultrasonic micro-vibration

NeuralGlider System — drawing

The NeuralGlider System is the NeuralGlider Inserter Model 102 from Actuated Medical, with its camera system and mount (Model 101). The Inserter vibrates a neural implant ultrasonically while a stereotaxic-mounted motor advances it, which lowers the force the implant needs to penetrate brain tissue and reduces tissue compression. Software sets position, velocity, actuation and power, in automated or manual insertion modes, and a microscopic pen camera views the implant and the insertion site. A coupler holds the implant during insertion and releases it once the implant is fixed to the skull.
