Activus Package Series
An Activus package integrates the digitizing headstage chip into the probe package: the silicon probe is passive and an Intan RHD chip on the package amplifies, filters and digitizes every site, so no separate headstage is mounted and the cable out of the package is digital.
Activus packages are built at 64, 128 or 256 channels for acute and chronic recording, mice to NHP.
Two connector builds. AV and AVH builds terminate in micro-HDMI and connect to XDAQ or Smartbox directly, in the same way as an X-Series headstage. AVI and AVIH builds terminate in the 12-pin Omnetics SPI connector and connect to an Intan RHD recording controller or other Intan-compatible system over a standard SPI cable. The H builds add a flexible cable for a chronic implant; the others are cable-less for acute work. Activus packages record only, at 16 bits and up to 30 kS/s per channel with about 2.4 µV rms input-referred noise; the chip measures site impedance in place (headstage, DAQ chip).
Compatible silicon designs: 1 to 16 shanks, 3 to 15 mm, up to 256 sites, in every site layout. The Matrix series has Activus builds at 128 and 256 channels, and the Activus SiNAPS series is the related package for active-pixel probes.
