DBS Package Series

Hardware
A DBS package routes a research DBS array (rDBSA) lead, a single shaft with 32 or 40 individually addressable contacts in a line along it, to a threaded Omnetics connector, for stimulation and recording at deep brain targets.

The 32-contact builds terminate in a threaded Omnetics 32-pin connector, which mates a SmartLink 32 headstage directly or an X-Series headstage through an X-Series connector adapter; the 40-contact builds terminate in a threaded 42-pin non-magnetic Omnetics connector. Stimulation runs through an X-Series stim-record headstage on XDAQ in record-and-stimulate mode, where the Intan RHS2116 delivers constant-current pulses from 10 nA to 2.5 mA per channel.

Shaft length is 35, 45 or 60 mm. The acute builds have a 3D-printed polymer case; the chronic builds have a 3D-printed titanium housing or, without the housing, an epoxy body. Because the contacts are addressed individually, the stimulating and recording contacts are chosen along the shaft after implantation.

Research use only.
