Kontex System Adapter

Hardware
A Kontex system adapter joins a connector outside the X-Series platform to the XDAQ chain, in two configurations: one docks a Neuropixels probe, the other remaps an XDAQ-side connector, each with Omnetics 32 or X-Series outputs.

The Neuropixels configuration is used with the X-Series NP headstage, so a Neuropixels 1.0 or 2.0 probe is acquired by XDAQ on the same clock as the X-Series headstages on the rig, and a laboratory running both probe types runs one acquisition system; the Commutator PRO passes up to four Neuropixels ports. NeuroNexus does not make Neuropixels probes; the NP headstage and this adapter are how an existing probe enters the chain. The second configuration remaps an XDAQ-side connector onto Omnetics 32 or an X-Series connector for hardware from other vendors.

As with every remap adapter, the site-to-channel map on the DAQ side differs from the probe's drawing; confirm it against a known signal before the first recording. The adapters within the X-Series platform are under X-Series adapters, and the NeuroNexus package adapters under NeuroNexus adapters.
