CM Package Series

Hardware
A CM package mounts the connector directly on the probe assembly with no interconnect cable, which keeps the footprint small and the weight low; it is the usual chronic package for a mouse.

The connector is an Omnetics 16- or 32-pin edge connector (CM16LP, CM32), a non-magnetic MRI Omnetics on the MRI-conditional builds (MRCM16LP, MROCM32LP), or a Samtec SEARAY on SEACM64. Omnetics 16 and 32 mate a SmartLink 16 or 32 headstage directly, or an X-Series headstage through an X-Series connector adapter; for a freely moving mouse the X-Series headstage weighs 0.9 to 1.5 g and streams to XDAQ over one micro-HDMI cable. Stimulation through the package uses an X-Series stim-record headstage on XDAQ. Optoelectrode builds (OCM16LP, OCM32LP) add an optical fiber, and the dual builds (CM16 Dual, CM32 Dual16) mount two probes on one connector.

Compatible silicon designs: 1 to 8 shanks, 2 to 15 mm, in all four site layouts, sites usually 177 µm².
