Buzsaki 4-Shank 32-Channel Probe, 1.5 mm
Silicon 3D probe platform — several 32-site 2D arrays, 64 to 256 channels, recording and stimulating

Four short shanks side by side, spread for lateral coverage across columns, with sites staggered near the edges of each tip — the Buzsaki layout for spike discrimination. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 32 sites (a common choice — 155 of 369), 1.5 mm shanks (0th percentile of the 366 measured), a 1.15 mm-deep site array (58th percentile), 15 sites/mm² (5th percentile) and a 1.94 mm³ neural interface (91st percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The short shanks suit superficial targets.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 19 package configurations, 2 of them microdrive-compatible. Built for the Matrix Array platform: this 2D array installs in a Matrix package slot and is not assembled in other packages. Silicon 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Research use only.
