Tetrode Single-Shank 4-Channel Probe, 3 mm

Four sites clustered at one depth — isolation by amplitude ratio, not a depth profile

NeuroNexus Q1x1 Tet 3mm 121 probe

A single short shank with sites grouped in tetrodes at intervals, for unit isolation at set depths. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it sits at the bottom: 4 sites (5th percentile), 3 mm shanks (a common choice — 37 of 363), a 0.05 mm-deep site array (5th percentile), 1,861 sites/mm² (95th percentile) and a 0.15 mm³ neural interface (1st percentile).

Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The short shank suits superficial targets.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 15 package configurations. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
