Buzsaki 4-Shank 32-Channel Probe, 5 mm
Staggered sites concentrated at the tip — many units resolved from one penetration

Four mid-length shanks side by side, closely spaced for coverage within one structure, with sites staggered near the edges of each tip — the Buzsaki layout for spike discrimination. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is in the lower quartile: 32 sites (a common choice — 155 of 369), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 0.15 mm-deep site array (8th percentile), 324 sites/mm² (57th percentile) and a 0.37 mm³ neural interface (22nd percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The mid-length shanks reach structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 24 package configurations, 1 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
