Buzsaki 4-Shank 32-Channel Probe, 11 mm
Staggered sites concentrated at the tip — many units resolved from one penetration

Four long shanks side by side, closely spaced for coverage within one structure, with sites staggered near the edges of each tip — the Buzsaki layout for spike discrimination. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 32 sites (a common choice — 155 of 369), 11 mm shanks (91st percentile of the 366 measured), a 0.26 mm-deep site array (14th percentile), 194 sites/mm² (46th percentile) and a 0.43 mm³ neural interface (27th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The long shanks reach deep targets.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 24 package configurations, 3 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
