Buzsaki 5-Shank 64-Channel Probe, 5 mm
Staggered sites concentrated at the tip — many units resolved from one penetration

Five mid-length shanks side by side, closely spaced for coverage within one structure, with sites staggered near the edges of each tip — the Buzsaki layout for spike discrimination. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 64 sites (a common choice — 68 of 369), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 1.02 mm-deep site array (53rd percentile), 75 sites/mm² (30th percentile) and a 1.01 mm³ neural interface (71st percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The mid-length shanks reach structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 22 package configurations, 3 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
