Buzsaki 8-Shank 64-Channel Probe, 10 mm
Staggered sites concentrated at the tip — many units resolved from one penetration

Eight long shanks side by side, closely spaced for coverage within one structure, with sites staggered near the edges of each tip — the Buzsaki layout for spike discrimination. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 64 sites (a common choice — 68 of 369), 10 mm shanks (a common choice — 79 of 363), a 0.15 mm-deep site array (8th percentile), 285 sites/mm² (55th percentile) and a 0.64 mm³ neural interface (49th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The long shanks reach deep targets.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 24 package configurations, 2 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
