Buzsaki Single-Shank 64-Channel Probe, 5 mm

Staggered sites concentrated at the tip — many units resolved from one penetration

NeuroNexus Buz64 Sp 100 5mm probe

A single mid-length shank with sites staggered near the edges of each tip — the Buzsaki layout for spike discrimination. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is in the upper quartile: 64 sites (a common choice — 68 of 369), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 2 mm-deep site array (81st percentile), 59 sites/mm² (23rd percentile) and a 1.3 mm³ neural interface (82nd percentile).

Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The mid-length shank reaches structures a few millimetres down.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 24 package configurations, 5 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
