Neural Probes · A-Series (Buzsaki)

Buzsaki 6-Shank 64-Channel Probe, 15 mm

Staggered sites concentrated at the tip — many units resolved from one penetration

NeuroNexus Buz64 Sp 15mm probe

Six long shanks side by side, closely spaced for coverage within one structure, with sites staggered near the edges of each tip — the Buzsaki layout for spike discrimination. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is in the upper quartile: 64 sites (a common choice — 68 of 369), 15 mm shanks (97th percentile of the 366 measured), a 2 mm-deep site array (81st percentile), 31 sites/mm² (10th percentile) and a 1.92 mm³ neural interface (89th percentile).

Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The long shanks reach deep targets.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 23 package configurations, 5 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
