Linear 16-Shank 16-Channel Probe, 2 mm
Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling
Sixteen short shanks side by side, closely spaced for coverage within one structure, with sites spread evenly down each, one per row, for a profile across depth. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is in the lower quartile: 16 sites (a common choice — 84 of 369), 2 mm shanks (8th percentile of the 366 measured), a 0.02 mm-deep site array (1st percentile), 1,393 sites/mm² (90th percentile) and a 0.33 mm³ neural interface (16th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation. The short shanks suit superficial targets.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 16 package configurations, 1 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
