Neural Probes · A-Series (Polytrode & Tetrode)
Single-Shank 16-Channel Probe, 3.8 mm
Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate
A single mid-length shank with sites staggered in two columns so neighbouring sites see the same units. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 16 sites (a common choice — 84 of 369), 3.8 mm shanks (20th percentile of the 366 measured), a 1.51 mm-deep site array (67th percentile), 57 sites/mm² (22nd percentile) and a 0.69 mm³ neural interface (55th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, spaced for a laminar profile. The mid-length shank reaches structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 4 package configurations. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Research use only.
