Neural Probes · A-Series (Polytrode & Tetrode)

Single-Shank 32-Channel Probe, 10 mm

Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate

A single long shank with sites staggered in two columns so neighbouring sites see the same units. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 32 sites (a common choice — 155 of 369), 10 mm shanks (a common choice — 79 of 363), a 0.8 mm-deep site array (50th percentile), 607 sites/mm² (71st percentile) and a 0.37 mm³ neural interface (21st percentile).

Large sites read a wider patch at lower impedance, suited to field potentials and multi-unit activity, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The long shank reaches deep targets.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 8 package configurations. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
