Neural Probes · A-Series (Polytrode & Tetrode)

Single-Shank 16-Channel Probe, 6 mm

Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate

NeuroNexus A1x16 Poly2 6mm 71s 177 Ref probe

A single mid-length shank with sites staggered in two columns so neighbouring sites see the same units. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 16 sites (a common choice — 84 of 369), 6 mm shanks (60th percentile of the 366 measured), a 0.81 mm-deep site array (51st percentile), 256 sites/mm² (52nd percentile) and a 0.38 mm³ neural interface (23rd percentile).

Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, spaced for a laminar profile. The mid-length shank reaches structures a few millimetres down.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 19 package configurations, 2 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Research use only.
