Neural Probes · A-Series (Polytrode & Tetrode)
Single-Shank 32-Channel Probe, 5 mm
Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate
A single mid-length shank with sites staggered in two columns so neighbouring sites see the same units. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 32 sites (a common choice — 155 of 369), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 1.02 mm-deep site array (53rd percentile), 450 sites/mm² (65th percentile) and a 0.43 mm³ neural interface (26th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, spaced for a laminar profile. The mid-length shank reaches structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 5 package configurations. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
