Neural Probes · A-Series (Polytrode & Tetrode)
Single-Shank 32-Channel Probe, 5 mm
Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate

A single mid-length shank with sites staggered in three columns so neighbouring sites see the same units. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is in the lower quartile: 32 sites (a common choice — 155 of 369), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 0.29 mm-deep site array (15th percentile), 2,198 sites/mm² (97th percentile) and a 0.22 mm³ neural interface (4th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The mid-length shank reaches structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 24 package configurations, 1 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat not available on this close-spaced poly layout. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
