Neural Probes · A-Series (Polytrode & Tetrode)
Single-Shank 32-Channel Probe, 6 mm
Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate

A single mid-length shank with sites staggered in five columns so neighbouring sites see the same units. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 32 sites (a common choice — 155 of 369), 6 mm shanks (60th percentile of the 366 measured), a 0.24 mm-deep site array (14th percentile), 1,408 sites/mm² (91st percentile) and a 0.22 mm³ neural interface (5th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The mid-length shank reaches structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 24 package configurations, 3 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
