Neural Probes · A-Series (Polytrode & Tetrode)
Tetrode Single-Shank 16-Channel Probe, 10 mm
Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate
A single long shank with sites grouped in tetrodes at intervals, for unit isolation at set depths. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is in the lower quartile: 16 sites (a common choice — 84 of 369), 10 mm shanks (a common choice — 79 of 363), a 0.35 mm-deep site array (20th percentile), 996 sites/mm² (87th percentile) and a 0.23 mm³ neural interface (7th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The long shank reaches deep targets.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 7 package configurations. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
