Neural Probes · A-Series (Polytrode & Tetrode)
Single-Shank 64-Channel Probe, 6 mm
Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate

A single mid-length shank with sites staggered in two columns so neighbouring sites see the same units. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 64 sites (a common choice — 68 of 369), 6 mm shanks (60th percentile of the 366 measured), a 1.46 mm-deep site array (65th percentile), 1,066 sites/mm² (87th percentile) and a 0.53 mm³ neural interface (38th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The mid-length shank reaches structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 22 package configurations, 2 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat not available on this close-spaced poly layout. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
