Neural Probes · A-Series (Polytrode & Tetrode)
2-Shank 64-Channel Probe, 10 mm
Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate

Two long shanks side by side, closely spaced for coverage within one structure, with sites staggered in five columns so neighbouring sites see the same units. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is in the lower quartile: 64 sites (a common choice — 68 of 369), 10 mm shanks (a common choice — 79 of 363), a 0.18 mm-deep site array (11th percentile), 1,322 sites/mm² (88th percentile) and a 0.26 mm³ neural interface (9th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The long shanks reach deep targets.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 22 package configurations, 2 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
