Neural Probes · A-Series (Polytrode & Tetrode)

2-Shank 16-Channel Probe, 8 mm

Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate

A2x8-Poly2-8mm-100s-300-177 wireframe schematic

Two long shanks side by side, with sites staggered in two columns so neighbouring sites see the same units. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 16 sites (a common choice — 84 of 369), 8 mm shanks (67th percentile of the 366 measured), a 0.36 mm-deep site array (21st percentile), 120 sites/mm² (36th percentile) and a 0.37 mm³ neural interface (22nd percentile).

Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, spaced for a laminar profile. The long shanks reach deep targets.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 6 package configurations. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Research use only.
