Tetrode 4-Shank 32-Channel Probe, 5 mm
Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate

Four mid-length shanks side by side, closely spaced for coverage within one structure, with sites grouped in tetrodes at intervals, for unit isolation at set depths. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is in the lower quartile: 32 sites (a common choice — 155 of 369), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 0.2 mm-deep site array (12th percentile), 252 sites/mm² (52nd percentile) and a 0.4 mm³ neural interface (24th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The mid-length shanks reach structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 24 package configurations, 2 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
