Neural Probes · A-Series (Polytrode & Tetrode)
4-Shank 128-Channel Probe, 5 mm
Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate

Four mid-length shanks side by side, spread for lateral coverage across columns, with sites staggered in five columns so neighbouring sites see the same units. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it sits at the top: 128 sites (96th percentile), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 4.38 mm-deep site array (95th percentile), 29 sites/mm² (9th percentile) and a 3.66 mm³ neural interface (97th percentile).
Mid-sized sites balance unit isolation against field-potential pickup, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The mid-length shanks reach structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 14 package configurations, 3 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
