Neural Probes · A-Series (Polytrode & Tetrode)

Tetrode 4-Shank 64-Channel Probe, 10 mm

Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate

A4x4-tet-10mm-250-200-121 wireframe schematic

Four long shanks side by side, with sites grouped in tetrodes at intervals, for unit isolation at set depths. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 64 sites (a common choice — 68 of 369), 10 mm shanks (a common choice — 79 of 363), a 0.8 mm-deep site array (50th percentile), 124 sites/mm² (36th percentile) and a 0.74 mm³ neural interface (60th percentile).

Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The long shanks reach deep targets.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 7 package configurations, 1 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
