Neural Probes · A-Series (Polytrode & Tetrode)

8-Shank 256-Channel Probe, 7.5 mm

Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate

NeuroNexus A8x32 Poly2 7p5mm 25s 325 177 probe

Eight long shanks side by side, spread for lateral coverage across columns, with sites staggered in two columns so neighbouring sites see the same units. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 256 sites (99th percentile), 7.5 mm shanks (64th percentile of the 366 measured), a 0.4 mm-deep site array (26th percentile), 275 sites/mm² (54th percentile) and a 1.27 mm³ neural interface (79th percentile).

Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The long shanks reach deep targets.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 5 package configurations. Silicon 50 µm thick. Z-coat not available on this close-spaced poly layout. Research use only.
