Tetrode 8-Shank 256-Channel Probe, 8 mm
Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate

Eight long shanks side by side, closely spaced for coverage within one structure, with sites grouped in tetrodes at intervals, for unit isolation at set depths. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 256 sites (99th percentile), 8 mm shanks (67th percentile of the 366 measured), a 1.1 mm-deep site array (56th percentile), 161 sites/mm² (44th percentile) and a 1.55 mm³ neural interface (84th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The long shanks reach deep targets.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 5 package configurations. Silicon 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Research use only.
