Neural Probes · A-Series (Polytrode & Tetrode)

Tetrode Single-Shank 16-Channel Probe, 4.99975 mm

Sites clustered rather than spread — polytrode and tetrode groups a sorter can separate

Lfp8-tet wireframe schematic

A single mid-length shank with sites grouped in tetrodes at intervals, for unit isolation at set depths. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 16 sites (a common choice — 84 of 369), 5 mm shanks (22nd percentile of the 366 measured), a 1.21 mm-deep site array (58th percentile), 151 sites/mm² (43rd percentile) and a 0.5 mm³ neural interface (32nd percentile).

Mid-sized sites balance unit isolation against field-potential pickup, spaced for a laminar profile. The mid-length shank reaches structures a few millimetres down.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 8 package configurations. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
