Neural Probes · Q-Trode Series

Linear Single-Shank 4-Channel Probe, 18 mm

Four sites clustered at one depth — isolation by amplitude ratio, not a depth profile

Q1x4-18mm-200-703 wireframe schematic

A single long shank with sites spread evenly down the shank, one per row, for a profile across depth. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 4 sites (5th percentile), 18 mm shanks (99th percentile of the 366 measured), a 0.63 mm-deep site array (34th percentile), 214 sites/mm² (48th percentile) and a 0.3 mm³ neural interface (12th percentile).

Large sites read a wider patch at lower impedance, suited to field potentials and multi-unit activity, spaced widely to span a structure rather than resolve within it. The long shank reaches deep targets.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 2 package configurations. Silicon 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Research use only.
