Vector Single-Shank 16-Channel Probe, 10 mm

Short silicon array on a rigid support body — deep targets in large animals

A single long shank with sites along the shank's edge, closest to the tissue the probe faces. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 16 sites (a common choice — 84 of 369), 10 mm shanks (a common choice — 79 of 363), a 1.53 mm-deep site array (73rd percentile), 213 sites/mm² (47th percentile) and a 0.56 mm³ neural interface (44th percentile).

Large sites read a wider patch at lower impedance, suited to field potentials and multi-unit activity, spaced for a laminar profile. The long shank reaches deep targets.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 1 package configuration, 1 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Research use only.
