Linear Single-Shank 16-Channel Probe, 14 mm
Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling
A single long shank with sites spread evenly down the shank, one per row, for a profile across depth. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is in the upper quartile: 16 sites (a common choice — 84 of 369), 14 mm shanks (94th percentile of the 366 measured), a 3.78 mm-deep site array (94th percentile), 163 sites/mm² (44th percentile) and a 1.13 mm³ neural interface (77th percentile).
Large sites read a wider patch at lower impedance, suited to field potentials and multi-unit activity, spaced widely to span a structure rather than resolve within it. The long shank reaches deep targets.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 3 package configurations. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Research use only.
