Linear Single-Shank 16-Channel Probe, 3 mm

Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling

NeuroNexus A1x16 3mm 100 177 probe

A single short shank with sites spread evenly down the shank, one per row, for a profile across depth. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 16 sites (a common choice — 84 of 369), 3 mm shanks (a common choice — 37 of 363), a 1.51 mm-deep site array (69th percentile), 712 sites/mm² (77th percentile) and a 0.52 mm³ neural interface (34th percentile).

Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, spaced for a laminar profile. The short shank suits superficial targets.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 25 package configurations, 2 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
