Linear Single-Shank 16-Channel Probe, 5 mm
Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling

A single mid-length shank with sites spread evenly down the shank, one per row, for a profile across depth. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 16 sites (a common choice — 84 of 369), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 2.26 mm-deep site array (83rd percentile), 476 sites/mm² (68th percentile) and a 0.71 mm³ neural interface (58th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, spaced widely to span a structure rather than resolve within it. The mid-length shank reaches structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 25 package configurations, 2 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
