Linear Single-Shank 16-Channel Probe, 5 mm

Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling

A single mid-length shank with sites spread evenly down the shank, one per row, for a profile across depth. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 16 sites (a common choice — 84 of 369), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 2.27 mm-deep site array (83rd percentile), 307 sites/mm² (56th percentile) and a 0.73 mm³ neural interface (59th percentile).

Large sites read a wider patch at lower impedance, suited to field potentials and multi-unit activity, spaced widely to span a structure rather than resolve within it. The mid-length shank reaches structures a few millimetres down.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 13 package configurations. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Research use only.
