Linear Single-Shank 32-Channel Probe, 5 mm

Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling

NeuroNexus A1x32 5mm 25 177 probe

A single mid-length shank with sites spread evenly down the shank, one per row, for a profile across depth. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 32 sites (a common choice — 155 of 369), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 0.79 mm-deep site array (50th percentile), 2,721 sites/mm² (97th percentile) and a 0.33 mm³ neural interface (17th percentile).

Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The mid-length shank reaches structures a few millimetres down.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 24 package configurations, 1 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
