Edge Single-Shank 64-Channel Probe, 6 mm
Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling

A single mid-length shank with sites along the shank's edge, closest to the tissue the probe faces. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 64 sites (a common choice — 68 of 369), 6 mm shanks (60th percentile of the 366 measured), a 1.27 mm-deep site array (59th percentile), 2,800 sites/mm² (99th percentile) and a 0.46 mm³ neural interface (27th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, packed densely enough to track a unit across neighbouring sites. The mid-length shank reaches structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 20 package configurations, 3 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
