Linear Single-Shank 8-Channel Probe, 2.5 mm

Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling

A1x8-2-5mm150-413 wireframe schematic

A single short shank with sites spread evenly down the shank, one per row, for a profile across depth. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 8 sites (6th percentile), 2.5 mm shanks (8th percentile of the 366 measured), a 1.07 mm-deep site array (55th percentile), 328 sites/mm² (58th percentile) and a 0.41 mm³ neural interface (26th percentile).

Large sites read a wider patch at lower impedance, suited to field potentials and multi-unit activity, spaced widely to span a structure rather than resolve within it. The short shank suits superficial targets.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 6 package configurations. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Research use only.
