Linear Single-Shank 8-Channel Probe, 4 mm
Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling
A single mid-length shank with sites spread evenly down the shank, one per row, for a profile across depth. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 8 sites (6th percentile), 4 mm shanks (21st percentile of the 366 measured), a 1.44 mm-deep site array (64th percentile), 140 sites/mm² (40th percentile) and a 0.52 mm³ neural interface (35th percentile).
Large sites read a wider patch at lower impedance, suited to field potentials and multi-unit activity, spaced widely to span a structure rather than resolve within it. The mid-length shank reaches structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 12 package configurations. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
