Linear 2-Shank 16-Channel Probe, 5 mm

Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling

NeuroNexus A2x8 5mm 50 200 703 probe

Two mid-length shanks side by side, closely spaced for coverage within one structure, with sites spread evenly down each, one per row, for a profile across depth. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is in the lower quartile: 16 sites (a common choice — 84 of 369), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 0.38 mm-deep site array (23rd percentile), 183 sites/mm² (46th percentile) and a 0.32 mm³ neural interface (14th percentile).

Large sites read a wider patch at lower impedance, suited to field potentials and multi-unit activity, spaced for a laminar profile. The mid-length shanks reach structures a few millimetres down.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 25 package configurations, 4 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
