Linear 4-Shank 16-Channel Probe, 5 mm
Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling
Four mid-length shanks side by side, with sites spread evenly down each, one per row, for a profile across depth. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 16 sites (a common choice — 84 of 369), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 0.61 mm-deep site array (33rd percentile), 21 sites/mm² (8th percentile) and a 0.96 mm³ neural interface (70th percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, spaced widely to span a structure rather than resolve within it. The mid-length shanks reach structures a few millimetres down.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 8 package configurations, 1 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
