Linear 4-Shank 32-Channel Probe, 5 mm

Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling

NeuroNexus A4x8 5mm 200 200 177 probe

Four mid-length shanks side by side, closely spaced for coverage within one structure, with sites spread evenly down each, one per row, for a profile across depth. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 32 sites (a common choice — 155 of 369), 5 mm shanks (a common choice — 107 of 363), a 1.42 mm-deep site array (61st percentile), 37 sites/mm² (15th percentile) and a 1.07 mm³ neural interface (74th percentile).

Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, spaced widely to span a structure rather than resolve within it. The mid-length shanks reach structures a few millimetres down.

Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 24 package configurations, 2 of them microdrive-compatible. Silicon 15 or 50 µm thick. Z-coat available. Optical stimulation runs from a separate laser or LED source. Research use only.
