Edge 4-Shank 32-Channel Probe, 2 mm
Sites spread along the shank — linear and edge layouts for depth profiling
Four short shanks side by side, with sites along the shank's edge, closest to the tissue the probe faces. Among the 371 probe designs in the design space it is mid-range: 32 sites (a common choice — 155 of 369), 2 mm shanks (8th percentile of the 366 measured), a 0.71 mm-deep site array (38th percentile), 73 sites/mm² (29th percentile) and a 0.68 mm³ neural interface (52nd percentile).
Small sites read a local patch at higher impedance, sharpening single-unit isolation, spaced for a laminar profile. The short shanks suit superficial targets.
Orders as a probe-plus-package assembly, in 5 package configurations. Silicon 15 µm thick. Z-coat available. Research use only.
